Use case
Romance Scam Photo Check
When a romance-scam concern starts with a photo, the goal is not to prove everything from the image alone. The useful question is whether the photo, its online history, and the surrounding story stay consistent under review.
What to check first
- Whether reverse image search finds the same photo elsewhere
- Whether the top matches point to unrelated profiles or websites
- Whether the image shows AI-generation indicators or unusual polish
- Whether the account behavior supports the image story
Why the image matters
In many scam situations, the photo is one of the easiest parts of the story to test. A reused or suspicious image does not tell you everything, but it can quickly show whether more caution is warranted.
What not to assume
A polished or attractive image is not proof of a scam, and missing metadata is not proof of deception. The strongest interpretation comes from several clues pointing in the same direction.
