FAQ guide
Can Reverse Image Search Detect AI-Generated Images?
Reverse image search does not directly detect AI generation. What it can do is reveal whether an image appears on AI galleries, prompt-sharing sites, stock pages, blogs, or earlier reposts that change how you interpret the file.
What reverse search helps with
- Finding prior appearances of the same image
- Finding visually similar versions on AI image sites
- Showing whether a supposedly original image already exists elsewhere
- Adding source context to the technical review
What it does not do
A reverse match does not prove an image is AI-generated. It may simply show reuse or reposting. Likewise, a lack of matches does not prove a photo is authentic or human-made.
That question usually needs AI-generation indicators, metadata review, and forensic context as well.
Best workflow
Use reverse search to learn the image's online history, then compare that history with the technical signals in the file. The most useful conclusions come when those layers reinforce each other.
